Joanne Wisnosky

I have been a yoga student for the past six years and I am currently a student at the Red Elephant School of Yoga in pursuit of my RYT500.  We are into our second year of a two year program and have begun teaching and I am looking to expand my teaching experience by offering my services to various communities and venues.

We are trained in the Vanda Scaravelli/Esther Myer’s tradition which focuses on the anatomy of yoga and bringing the pose to each and every individual person, not the person to the pose.  I have concentrated on working with the senior population and have worked with many individuals with physical limitations.  I have learned to adapt yoga to fit the needs of each person, concentrating on balance, building strength to maintain an active lifestyle and providing a safe environment in which to do these things.

I have also taught gentle and level one classes at Red Elephant Yoga and worked with large groups in an outdoor setting, volunteering as teacher for Fuquay-Varina’s Free Yoga in the Park.

In addition to my Yoga experience, I have a BSE in Physical Education with 10 years of teaching experience in the public and private school sector.
