Tara Phillips has been practicing yoga since 2000. She discovered Red Elephant Yoga in 2007 and became a student of owner, Charlotte Ranz. In 2009, Tara was accepted into the Red Elephant Yoga Teacher Training School and began deepening her practice and understanding of the Esther Myers / Vanda Scaravelli style of yoga. Tara is currently a student of the Red Elephant Teacher Training program and will receive her certification as a RYT500 registered yoga teacher in Fall, 2011.
In Summer 2010, Tara began her apprenticeship with Red Elephant Yoga and is currently teaching Gentle/ Level 1 yoga classes. In addition, she has participated in giving back to the yoga community by teaching Yoga in the Park at Fuquay Mineral Springs, in Fuquay-Varina, NC. She continues her education by attending workshops at Red Elephant Yoga that focus on anatomy, breath-work, and yoga philosophy.
Tara’s intention for teaching yoga is to bring peace and relaxation to her students in a safe environment. Her love of yoga shines through in her classes, as she encourages students to discover their own joy in the practice. “Yoga is a wonderful way to bring the body, mind, and spirit together. The practice allows an individual to leave stress behind, while focusing the mind on connecting with the breath, moving the body, and welcoming in stillness,” she adds.
The owner of Red Elephant Yoga, Charlotte Ranz, is pleased to add Tara to the team. “Tara offers students an opportunity to undo, relax and get rid of the tensions of the day. She is caring and compassionate – two qualities that make her a fine teacher and a welcome addition to our team.” |
